About the conference

The era of industrial revolution 4.0 is an industrial era that combines automation technology with cyber technology. This era is considered to be an automation trend and data exchange in manufacturing technology. To date, this industry has begun to touch the virtual world, in the form of human, machine and data connectivity. Its effect can now be found in any forms of life. This term is widely known as the Internet of Things (IoT).

The Indonesian government has begun to respond this industrial change by launching the roadmap of 'Making Indonesia 4.0' as a strategy to ease Indonesia's steps to become one of the new powers in Asia in April 2018. This roadmap provides a clear direction for the movement of the national industry in the future, including a focus on developing priority sectors that will become Indonesia's strength towards Industry 4.0.

Making Indonesia 4.0 can be said to reflect the determination of the country in adapting to a variety of major changes in the current era of the fourth industrial revolution (Industry 4.0). It is also the obligation of the country to prepare its millennial generation to become a competitive and productive workforce throughout the era of Industry 4.0. Indonesia has stepped up the era of Industry 4.0 as indicated in its digitalization and automation. However, not all the elements of the society are aware of the logical consequences or the effects of the changes that this era has caused. In fact, the facts of the change are often still debated. For example, the increasing number of conventional stores in shopping centres that collapse is often politicized with the argument that the trend is caused by a decline in purchasing power. In fact, conventional stores are starting to face serious problems or minimal visitors because some urban communities prefer the online shopping system.
